  How do you deal with co-workers?

  as a witness i only worked with other witnesses for 35 years.

  now thrust out into the real world i find myself unprepared .

  for many of the confrontations i am experiencing with fellow .

  There is an adjustment for dealing with people after being a dub. These are skills we were never taught (unless we were standing at their doors). We were only taught to reject everyone and tell ourselves that we were superior because of our religion. Work environments are different. You won't get away from different personalites and attitudes. Get your own attitude, you won't change theirs. Focus on getting your work done and getting your paycheck. If you can't stand it anymore start looking for another job before you quit this one. Sometimes it's more tolerable when you are actively looking for something else. Hope this helps.

  If you don't walk the walk and talk the talk, no one will bother with you. Because of this, you may also feel that God doesn't want to be bothered with you also.

  Life Cereal

  does anyone remember the ban on life cereal, because it was supposed to contain blood?

  i've ben disfellowshipped for more than 20 years, so it's been quite a while since i heard this.

  did anyone hear this?

  Oh my gosh!! I remember the Life Cereal rumor. Also, in the 80's, there was a rumor about some type of bacon that contained blood. I think the elders said it was used as some kind of preservative. It was a huge topic for discussion during field service. Was it Sizzlean? Does anyone remember this?

  oops, well i had intended to post a message along with this new topic and my fingers were faster than my brain (need more coffee .

  well, i suppose it's like preaching to the converted; me obtaining this book, but i guess it's one of those things i just needed to do to finalize everything.. i know there are countless topics on ray franz' book.

  but to finally pick it up, i feel like: 'i can hardly wait to read it'.. before, i more or less figured: 'i am out of the wtbts, so why bother?'.

  TV progams that must be not be viewed at all costs

  the elder giving the public talk a couple of weeks ago told the congregation that there are more and more.

  movies and tv programs, like charmed, or books and movies like harry potter that must be avoided at all costs.

  because they are a direct link to demonism and spiritism.

  I used to go the Ballet all the time with sisters from the congregation. Elders wives, pioneers, etc. Funny how they never mentioned from the platform about the witches, fairies and magic that are the main plot of the story line. Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, we saw them all. Of course, we would never go to see the Nutcracker! Any Opera fans out there?

  For those of you who don't go to meetings anymore...

  when you attended your last meeting ever as a dub, did you know it was your last?

  did something happen which made it clear in your mind you were 'never going back' (not to be confused with nvrgnbk)?.

  the last meeting we went to was the memorial in 2006. we only went because we knew we were already pegged for the elders' unwanted attention, so we had to go to keep them off our backs a little longer.

  I can't remember my last meeting. It could have been a Memorial, since I was fading and only went for that to make my mom happy.

  I do remember when I told my family and co-workers that I quit and was not going back - October 2004 !

  Stupid Idiots at the meeting

  i was at the sunday meeting today (i know, i know...) and i heard this one guy give a comment about how hollywood movies always portray rich people as happy and successful, so that's proof that satan controls the film industry because it's a lie.. .

  i struggled to think of one recent hollywood film that portrayed anyone as being happy, let alone rich and happy.

  if they made a movie like this guy was describing, it wouldn't sell.

  Is Jesus also Michael the Arc Angel?

  When I first left, I was asking my friends what other lies I was taught while I was isolated by the Witnesses? What were their churches teaching from the Bible? I mentioned Jesus being Michael the Arc Angel. They got very silent, and looked at me like I had six heads.

  College problems for daughter

  i need electronic copies of anything in the watchtower or anything else speaking against college and higher education, preferably from the october 15 2005 wt and onward.

  my bright, intelligent 17-year-old daughter just informed me that she's decided against going to college because of all the garbage her kingdumb hall has told her.

  her mother started up going to jw about 4 years ago, and i guess i wasn't watching what they were doing to my daughter closely enough (but then, they don't want you to).

  I went to college in the 1980's no matter how many comments I got from elders and people at the Kingdom Hall. They can't disfellowship you for it, but you do get a lot of criticism. I wasn't going to back down. One point I could tell them was that the Society is still planning for worldwide growth within the organization. Brooklyn is still making changes, even though the end is coming , but they are still preparing for the future. I had to be assertive, and just kept telling this to everyone that decided they had a right to say something critical to me.

  What kind of people remain members and will serve the WTS to the end?

  my family have been members of the wts since the 1980's.

  they never went to college,don't read any books besides watchtower material,have no hobbies,don't have any friends besides witness "friends",worked manual labor jobs all their lives,never questioned anything the wts changes,and have never looked into any other teachings besides the wts propaganda.

  { in other words: they are closed minded and not very inquisitive}.

  People like my mother. She's loves being a Witness. She's a sweet lady, wants to serve God and is very dedicated. It's her whole life.
